Beau came to Singing Oaks in the summer of 2006 to serve as the Youth and Family Minister. He has a passion for sharing the gospel message with teens, connecting people across generational lines and working with families who have been wounded and broken by divorce. He also loves helping volunteers, interns, and students discover and enhance their spiritual gifts and talents.

Beau has received degrees from Abilene Christian University in Marriage and Family Therapy (M.A. 2006), Christian Ministry (M.A. 2005), and in Youth and Family Ministry (B.A. 2002). He has also been a guest lecturer for the Pruett Gerontology Center’s “Older Adult Ministry Conference (2004)” held annually at ACU.

Beau married "way up" in 2006 when he married Jill. Jill holds a B.A. from Oklahoma Christian in Family Studies and a M.A. from Abilene Christian in Marriage and Family Therapy. Jill works in Denton as a full time Marriage and Family Therapist associate.

Beau and Jill love to watch movies, run for exercise, ride bikes (motorcycles and bicycles), go camping, hike in the mountains and play games. The newest addition to their family is Tyce Davis, a handsome boy born in May of 2010.  Spike and Sprout, the four legged family members, celebrated their three year birthdays in June of 2010. Each are  miniature short-haired dachshunds who love to destroy paper, wrestle, play fetch, sit on mom and dads lap and do tricks.

Summer Intern 2010 Print E-mail

Mitchell O'Briant

Howdy!!! My name is Mitchell O’Briant, and I am originally from San Angelo, Texas. I am currently attending Lubbock Christian University where I will be a senior Youth and Family Ministry major in the fall. While living in Lubbock during the school year, I occupy my time with a full class load of 15-17 hrs. a semester, serving as an RA (Resident Assistant) and trying not to get blown away by the strong winds that blow constantly in West Texas. I am also active with the college ministry at Monterrey Church of Christ.  I am very excited to be here this summer as the intern, and I cannot wait for what God has in store for us this summer!

In the fall of 2006, Dusty and his wife, Lisa, came to Denton, Texas, in pursuit of a graduate degree for Lisa. Soon, they discovered Singing Oaks Church of Christ where they have become very involved with the Ministry to Newly Married Couples.

Soon after connecting and getting settled into Denton, Dusty made it known that he was passionate about helping out Singing Oaks through his ministry to campus students,  teens, and children through such activities as the Higher Ground Backpacking Trip, Cub Scouts and through his interest in website development.

Dusty has a passion for preserving our environment and helping people discover the great outdoors.  Dusty has received a degree from Abilene Christian University in Biology (B.S. 2006 cum laude). Dusty has earned the prestigious honor of Eagle Scout as well as the Servant-Leader Award from ACU.

Dusty loves to hike, backpack, kayak, canoe, and take road trips.  He also loves to work on websites and has designed and continues to maintain the following sites: lisaanddusty.com, acuoutdoorclub.org, soccyouth.org, and ntmn.org.

In 2008, Dusty and Lisa moved to Logan, Utah, where Dusty is currently working on a Master's Degree in Recreation Resource Management (a.k.a. Recreation Ecology).
